Shopping in Gatwick
Shopping at London Gatwick Airport can be enjoyed in both terminals, North and South, once a passenger has passed passport control. These shops are both Duty and Tax Free, offering a huge range of merchandise, including designer brand clothes, alcoholic beverages, perfumes and aftershave lotions, tobacco products, and sunglasses.
The World Duty Free Arrivals Store is popular with those seeking small gifts at duty paid prices because International arrival travelers can get beers, champagne, wines, and spirits, as well as various electrical appliances, confectionary, cosmetics, and fragrances.
Those travelers flying within the range of the European Union can also use the Shop and Collect services. They can buy a product when they’re leaving to catch a flight and can pick it up upon their return to Gatwick Airport. This makes it easier to buy items in short supply without having to carry them on and off the flight. This service is especially useful if the product is either delicate or large and heavy. By simply telling the retailer that the goods will be collected upon return, the buyer is issued a receipt. Upon returning to Gatwick Airport, the receipt can be handed in at the Shopping Collection center in Arrivals. This free service makes shopping while traveling much more convenient.
Another advantage for travelers within the European Union is Home Delivery. In the North terminal, certain stores participate in a Home Delivery service. The charge is a one-time fee of £5, and the payment is made at the first shop. A traveler can buy a number of items for this fee, provided that the total weight does not exceed 30 kg. All the purchased items are then delivered in a single consignment by Parcelforce. The deliveries can be made to any UK address from Monday to Friday, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
