Getting Around Gatwick
When you’re rushing to get from the curb through security and to your gate, all before the final boarding call, navigating through the airport is usually the last thing you want to have to worry about. Getting to the London Gatwick Airport and finding your way through it can be a simple process if you know what to look for.
While the London Gatwick Airport does have long-term parking available, there are other travel options for getting there. The Gatwick Express is a train service that will take you from central London to the airport. The bus runs frequently, so you won’t have to worry about waiting around. However, if you do want to drive, there is even valet parking available. Parking is free for motorcyclists and the proper spaces are available on the ground floor of the North Terminal parking garage and the 2nd floor of the South Terminal parking garage.
Once you get to the airport make sure you follow the proper procedures to ensure you get through security quickly. Have your liquids placed in a plastic bag, remove your laptop from its carry case, and take off your shoes when prompted. The entire time you are at the airport you should have your boarding pass and identification easily accessible.
Should you have to spend the night at Gatwick, there are a variety of lodging options. In the South Terminal there is a Hilton and a YOTEL. Adjoined to the North Terminal is a Sofitel. There are plenty more hotels nearby if these are outside your price range or are full.
If you do have an extended layover or a little extra time at the London Gatwick Airport, browse the many shops and dining options within the terminal.
